Taking good news to every young person in Bath
Welcome to the Bath YFC website
The Christian faith community in Bath engages with 1400 young people every week, delivering nearly 4000 sessions of youth work every year. Find out more from the our report written by James Vaughton on youth and schools work delivered by the Christian faith community in Bath by clicking here.
Bath Youth for Christ is a dynamic and innovative Christian faith based youth organisation that has been working with young people in Bath for over thirty years. Our mission is to take and be good news, in relevant ways, to young people in the city of Bath and the surrounding area.
Bath YFC is involved in youth and schools work. Our projects include a youth cafe, skateboard project, graffiti project and dance academy. Our work with schools involves delivering lessons, lunch clubs, mentoring, Christian Unions, the extended schools programme and assemblies. We work in partnership; with churches, schools, the local police, the local authority and other organisations. You can find out more about Bath YFC by navigating your way through our website. If you have any questions then please get in touch.
Could you help make our Young Leader Scheme a reality by making a small donation? If so you can give by text. Text 'BYFC 11 £5'(or any other amount but in this format) to 70070 to empower young people to lead!
There is no charge/commission, what you give will all go towards the work of Bath YFC.

Monday 23rd January
There was a really positive atmosphere at the Youth Cafés this week, with one girl in Weston announcing that she had “thought about God all day” as soon as she walked in. This provoked some interesting discussion! We are planning to do an Art project with the young people in Weston, based on the song “Get Better” by dan le sac VS Scroobius Pip- a song with the message that young people can help themselves to get better even if their parents/ school/ the world is failing them. It will be interesting to see how it turns out! At both Twerton and Central Youth Café’s we held a film night, where the young people watched a film of their choice and enjoyed the Bath YFC cinema experience.
In Potterne the Burns night celebration on Saturday night went down well amongst the local community- 10 young people turned up to wait on the public; in total they raised £250 for the Youth Café. Steve is also about to start the Accompanying project in a local primary school with 4 year 6s. Do please pray for him as he begins to form relationships with these young people and helps them through the sometimes turbulent transition to secondary school.
Finally, do please pray for Just Chilling in Ralph Allen School. They had a really good time last week talking about Heaven with Georgie and found it easy to ask questions, Kat challenged the group to go and invite others to Just Chilling so hopefully a new group of year 7s will come along next week, which will add a different dimension to the group. This means that Kat and the team will have to build up new relationships there as well as maintaining the old ones so do please pray for them as they do this.
This week James is finishing mentoring one young lad at a local school who has come through challenging times at home and difficulties at school to a place where he is now thriving and a regular at the after school football club. Please pray for this boy that he will continue to thrive in the coming months and years! James is also going to be working with some other lads so please pray as he embarks on this new work.
Every blessing
