In September 2006, Jerome, Heinrich and Divan visited Bath YFC. Since their visit they have returned to Elsies River, Cape Town and the church has started a project called Pinnacle Youth Outreach. It is a mixture of games, socialising, entertainment and sugary food as the church seeks to engage with a new generation of young South Africans who have little to do with church. Pinnacle is seeking to help the young people of Elsies discover and follow Jesus and working to help inform them about the consequences of involvement in drugs, gangs, alcohol abuse and teenage pregnancy.

In September 2007, Bath YFC sent a team of six out to Elsies River. The visit was specifically to see what the outreach team were up to, to support and encourage their work and to act as a learning experience for us as a team. Furthermore we wanted to explore if and how we continue to take the link forward. I think the 'if' has been answered;
'yes'. The 'how' still remains a current topic of conversation but we are looking at several options including supporting a local worker, further short term missions and gap year possibilities.
