Bath Youth for Christ has over the last few years built up experience working within the school curriculum delivering enrichment programmes. In Bath, we have worked in Ralph Allen School, St. Gregory’s Catholic College, Hayesfield Girls School and Bath Community Academy to deliver such programmes. These programmes include:
- Strength, a six week self-esteem programme specifically designed for boys
- Shine, a six week self-esteem programme specifically designed for girls
- Rock Solid activity programme, helping young people explore life from a Christian faith perspective
- Life Academy, a 12 week relationships and sex programme to equip young people to make the best choices possible. Click here for more information on this programme.
Comments on the Strength programme from Sara Wallin at Bath Community Academy:
“It has been great to watch students discuss and reflect on what makes them who they are and who they would like to be. One student, in particular, has flourished through the activities. He participates fully in discussion; he is able to reflect and has matured in front of our eyes. He has taken up challenges with good humour and energy. This new-found confidence saw him get up in an assembly and play the piano in front of all the students and teachers in the school. He has considered many issues, offering thoughtful and at times, provocative comments that have caused us all to stop and think. He seems happy in his skin and able to share this inner strength with others. The other members of the Group have also enjoyed the chance to think about aspects of their lives and to pause in a busy week and consider how they feel in a comfortable, supportive environment. Dave and Chris have been brilliant with the students!”
