Taking good news to every young person in Bath

Welcome to the Bath YFC website

Bath Youth for Christ is a dynamic and innovative Christian faith based youth organisation that has been working with young people in Bath for over thirty years. Our mission is to take and be good news, in relevant ways, to young people in the city of Bath and the surrounding area.

Bath YFC is involved in youth and schools work. Our projects include a youth cafe, skateboard project, graffiti project and dance academy. Our work with schools involves delivering lessons, lunch clubs, mentoring, Christian Unions, the extended schools programme and assemblies. We work in partnership; with churches, schools, the local police, the local authority and other organisations. You can find out more about Bath YFC by navigating your way through our website. If you have any questions then please get in touch.

Could you help make our Young Leader Scheme a reality by making a small donation?  If so you can give by text.  Text  'BYFC 12 £5'(or any other amount but in this format) to 70070 to empower young people to lead!

There is no charge/commission, what you give will all go towards the work of Bath YFC.

Tuesday 31st January – is it really the end of the month already!

Encouragements and challenges as ever...

On Tuesday night Georgie headed up a “Dubstep Art Night” at Twerton Youth Café. There was an hour and half of silent young people as they listened to the music and did some art! They did their own pieces and then worked together to produce a great piece of artwork which will be displayed at our Partners event in March. Central Youth Café was also quiet this week, but because not many young people came along!  Do please pray for the young leaders at these youth cafés as they are vague as to when they will turn up, which proves a challenge for Luke!

Thank God for the 12 young people that put in an appearance at the late night youth café in Potterne this week- Steve had a really great time playing pool with the lads and just chatting to them. Do please pray for wisdom for him as he seeks to involve both the girls and lads in the youth café as one group inevitably feels left out as he spends time with the other!

Our after school football project has seen lots of new faces over the last few months.  However please pray for the football project at Culverhay. There is a lack of continuity with the teams as different lads come along each week, meaning that we are grappling with how to build community and ownership within the club at the moment.

Last week Kat challenged the established members of Just Chilling at Ralph Allen to invite year 7 pupils along.  They took the challenge and 10 new young people showed up, one of who has been through our Accompanying Project!  Praise God.

Finally, the young people in St Greg’s CU have been invited by Monkton Combe School to go to their CU on Wednesday night to see how it is run, as well as to hear the well known speaker Andy Croft (who helped set up Soul Survivor Youth Conference with Mike Pilavachi). Do please pray for the young people from St Greg’s, that they might get a fresh enthusiasm for their CU and its role in the school.

Every blessing
