Thrive is the new name for all Bath YFC teaching material.
We have done this to bring together the growing lesson
delivery that we are involved in. It is named Thrive
because the word means to flourish and prosper and
our hope is that our developing programmes will help
young people both flourish and prosper in every day
life making the most out of their potential.
During the last academic year we successfully trialled
and launched Thrive Skate with Culverhay School and
will be continuing to work with Culverhay in the coming
year. Having now employed Jo Dolby as our skate outreach
manager on a full-time basis we are looking to expand
the programme and are currently working with Ralph
Allen and Writhlington Schools developing a similar
work having run trial events during the summer break
of 2006.
We are also developing a six week PSHE course which
will this year be trialled at Beechen Cliff School.
Subjects covered will be self-esteem, community, the
environment and justice amongst others.
We are in the process of working on other ideas to
develop our schools work and will keep you informed
of any developments. If you have any ideas you feel
are worth us exploring please feel free to let us
know.
